Print & Cheques Now Inc. is a Canadian family-owned cheque printer based in Calgary, Alberta. Founded by Tom and Irene Gilchrist and now operated with their sons Ryan and Jon, we have been producing CPA-compliant business and personal cheques since 1996. Print & Cheques Now began as Cheques Now / Cheques Direct Ltd. — a small Calgary print shop founded by Tom and Irene Gilchrist. From the beginning, their mission was simple: provide Canadian businesses with the most secure, most reliable cheques available anywhere in Canada, at a price that beats the banks.
In November 2006, Tom and Irene made a pivotal decision — they sold their original general print shop to focus exclusively on cheque manufacturing. That singular focus changed everything. Within a few years, they became one of the most trusted cheque printers in the country, with clients ranging from small businesses ordering 200 manual cheques at a time to large oil & gas companies ordering thousands of laser cheques every quarter.
Today, Ryan and Jon Gilchrist — two of Tom and Irene's five sons — are active in the day-to-day operations of the company, carrying forward the same values: quality above all, service that actually serves, and pricing that gives every Canadian business a real advantage over ordering from their bank.
In June 2010, we moved our facility from just under 1,800 sq ft to nearly 6,000 sq ft — a milestone that allowed us to invest in web presses, collators, and the printing infrastructure needed to serve a growing national client base from Victoria, BC to St. John's, NL.
